The Axion - The Superhero Candidate for Dark Matter

A hypothetical particle, called the axion, not only fixes up a theoretical problem in particle physics, but it also may explain the nature of dark matter in the universe. I'll briefly describe some theory and then the experimental efforts world-wide to search for this possible superhero candidate for dark matter.
