Find and learn about a variety of different astronomical objects, from solar system objects to galaxies and black holes.
To host your own Space Quest event, you’ll need:
- A place to have your quest. A larger space works best.
- Space Quest object posters (PDF) - the graphics are scalable so you should be able to print them nice and large, for maximum effect.
- [optional] Laminate your posters to make them weather-proof and reusable.
- Space Quest answer sheet: Colour answer sheet (PDF) or Black and White answer sheet (PDF)
- Participants will need a device (e.g. mobile phone) with internet access to follow the QR code/web link provided on each poster to learn about each object.
- Pens/pencils
Space Quest is designed to introduce you to a variety of different objects in space. You can see all the objects on the Thing List page of the Space Quest website, spacequest.uk .
- Print out the Space Quest posters, and as many copies of the answer sheet as you need.
- Put up the Space Quest posters. Be careful not to damage property or nature with the posters.
- Tell people about your quest.
- Begin your Space Quest scavenger hunt. Hand out an answer sheet to each participant so they can keep track of the objects they’ve found.
5. When participants find a poster, they should use the QR code or website link on the poster to learn about the object.
6. Remember to be considerate. Take your posters down when your event has finished.
You can ask participants to name the different space objects as you work your way through the quest. Once you've found all the objects, you can pick objects at random on the answer sheet and see if the participants can name them.
