Louis Cruls Astronomy Club
About
The Louis Cruls Astronomy Club was founded on May 26, 1996. In 2026, we celebrate 30 years of activity. Since its founding, we have distinguished ourselves by carrying out teaching and popularization activities in Astronomy in cities in the northern region of the State of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. We develop activities in 10 municipalities and have the annual participation of thousands of students, teachers, and the general public. We partner with several schools. In Brazil, we coordinate Astronomers Without Borders and the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project and are responsible for DarkSky Rio de Janeiro, the first and only official DarkSky chapter in Brazil to date.
