About

Real observational astronomy motivates undergrad students into science. Bringing groups to observatories is costly for Chilean universities. Remote use of instruments cost-effectively transfers knowledge. We plan to impact undergrad astronomy students with real observational engagement. The telescope and camera are appropriate for a first high-end session, optimized for throughput. This activity aims to provide students invaluable tools, i.e. introducing research method, active learning, experiment design, data interpretation, report writing, error analysis, critical thinking, teamwork.
