Network status: Information on observing requests

Jul 5, 2016

We're pleased to announce that we've modified the observatory portal to provide you with a trove of new information on submitted observing requests.

LCOGT's scheduling software relies on information about Network conditions (bad weather, internet outages, instruments offline for repair, etc) in order to generate global observing schedules. With these portal modifications, we are now making that information available to users. By clicking on an observing request, users can find out where and when a target is observable, the status of the relevant telescopes, and if and when a request is scheduled to be observed. A brief introduction to the new features in the portal (titled "Information on Submitted Observing Requests") is available on our documentation page.

We welcome your comments on the changes we've made, as well as your suggestions for additional modifications.
