Beyond the Stars is a place-conscious astronomy education program in Canada that provides hands-on, inquiry-based learning opportunities for students in remote, Indigenous, and historically underserved communities. The program combines access to research-grade telescopes with guided exploration of astronomical data, allowing participants to experience how observations are planned, acquired, and interpreted. Beyond the Stars is co-developed with local community partners and educators, ensuring that activities are culturally relevant, adaptable, and responsive to local priorities. By integrating scientific practice with cultural dialogue and experiential learning, the program fosters meaningful and sustained connections to the night sky and to STEM pathways.
