The Tarantula Nebula (NGC 2070, C103) is in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the milky way. It has an apparent magnitude of 8 and is an H II region. It is the most active starburst region, when star formation occurs at a higher rate than usual, known in the Local Group of galaxies.
