Caldwell 6 (NGC 6543) is commonly known as the Cat's Eye Nebula and was discovered in 1786. It's a planetary nebula located in the Draco constellation 3,000 light years away from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of 8.2. Caldwell 6 is one of the first nebulae ever discovered and one of the most complicated with its eleven-plus shells of gas.
